Join us for a full day of learning specialist paint effects as part of our Restor8iv Skills series — monthly workshops designed to expand your restoration and upcycling toolkit.
Creating texture on wood, whether it's a rough surface, a raised stencil, or patination/rust can lift an item from ordinary to extraordinary.
Across the day, you will learn how to prepare and paint your piece, before experimenting with a range of mediums and techniques to create raised patterns, layered and textured surfaces, as well as both a patinated copper and rusty metal look. You will then choose your favourite to transform your piece into a true statement item.
As well as a stunning item of furniture, you'll also leave with the skills and confidence to continue your upcycling journey at home, and a real sense of accomplishment and inspiration.
What to bring:
- A small, ideally unpainted, wooden item (e.g. an occasional table, stool, chair, or box). Please avoid bringing something too large or intricate, as you may not finish it in the day.
- Clothing you don’t mind getting a little messy.
- Lunch
What’s provided:
- All paints, brushes, and specialist products, as well as a range of stencils (to create our raised patterns).
- Teas, coffees, cakes & biscuits.
- Expert tuition in a friendly, supportive environment
